Chiayi City has an area of 60 sq. kilometers and a population of about 26,500; Chiayi County has an area of 1,900 sq. kilometers and a population of about 526,000, whereas Yunlin County has an area of 1,200 sq. kilometers and a population of about 742,000. In the area, there are two district courts in Chiayi and Yunlin.
